Implant Dentures

What are implant dentures?

Implant dentures — also called implant-supported dentures — are dentures that attach to dental implants that Dr. Malkis permanently inserts into your jawbone. Whereas traditional dentures rest on your gums, these dentures have attachments that snap onto the implants, providing a more stable and comfortable fit.

With implant dentures, speaking, biting, and chewing is made easier. You don’t have to worry about your dentures falling out of your mouth.

Another advantage is that implant dentures preserve your jawbone and prevent further bone loss, gum recession, and changes in your facial structure.

How does All-on-4 work?

Dr. Malkis is trained and experienced in the All-on-4 implant system, which is a cost-efficient solution that provides patients with a full arch of teeth — either the upper or lower arch — on the day of surgery.

All-on-4 works in the same way as regular implants, with tiny titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone where they serve as artificial tooth roots. If you’re a candidate, you may be able to leave the visit with your final restoration on the same day as implant placement.

All-on-4 has several advantages over conventional dental implants, including that the treatment:

  • Allows for brand new replacement teeth in as little as one day
  • Reduced healing time
  • Shorter installation time
  • Decreases the need for a bone graft

Am I a good candidate for implant dentures?

Whether you’re a good fit for implant dentures depends on many factors, including your oral health, level of gum disease, and how much bone you have to support the implants. Dr. Malkis offers comprehensive evaluations in which he can determine whether implant dentures or the All-on-4 treatment is right for you.
